Presented by: SCARLA (The Student College, Academic, and Research Libraries Association), Rutgers–New Brunswick Libraries, LISSA (Library and Information Science Student Association), and the SC&I Alumni Association

As part of Banned Book Week, you are invited to BANNED: A Virtual Banned Books Read-Out & Discussions on the Freedom to Read on October 1 at 4:30pm EST. In addition to a zine workshop and “flash-talks” from faculty at Rutgers-NB libraries and SC&I on censorship and free speech, this virtual open mic-night will also give participants the opportunity to read from, listen to, and celebrate their favorite banned/challenged books. All kinds of texts are welcome, as are all languages!

12/6/18 – 6:00 PM – Professor Wayne Bivens-Tatum- Teaching as an Academic Librarian 

Professor Wayne Bivens-Tatum, a professor at Rutgers University and academic librarian at Princeton University who is teaching the Academic Librarianship course this semester, will speak about subjects related to teaching as an academic librarian including professorship, tenure, degree programs beyond the MLIS, and more.
