DESCRIPTION:Join SCARLA and LISSA on October 7th at 6:30 PM EST to celebrate Banned Books Week 2026. Come learn about the current state of book bans in the US and celebrate the freedom to read by sharing a passage from one of your favorite banned books–and/or join to listen to passages shared by others! \nCensorship is no longer creeping into the fabric of our country; it is steamrolling forward. And many of the loudest pro-censorship voices have positions of power within our communities. The data released during National Library Week 2025 shows that “the majority of book censorship attempts are now originating from organized movements.
